Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to ambertreeswellness@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question here, my door is always open.

Traditional massage often focuses strictly on rubbing a single sore muscle in isolation. A Whole System session addresses the physical muscle tissue and the nervous system signals controlling it. By blending custom physical bodywork with gentle nervous system regulation and intuitive pacing, we work to restore balance to your entire being—mind, body, and spirit.

Because a Whole System session addresses both deep muscle tissue and nervous system tracking, every individual responds uniquely. Your results depend entirely on your personal wellness goals and what your body is ready to safely release during our time together.

  • During the Session: Many clients drift into a deep, meditative state or fall entirely asleep. This is a normal physical sign that your nervous system has dropped its defenses to allow deep integration to happen.

  • Immediately After: You will likely feel a heavy sense of peace, better breathing, or a quiet, spacious calm in your body and mind.

  • The Next Day: Results vary. While my gentle approach eliminates the intense bruising of aggressive deep tissue, it is completely normal to still feel mild muscular soreness or a tender "good ache" the next day. Your tissue is actively flushing out tension and re-aligning.

  • The Days Following: Often, the most profound somatic and physical shifts show up 24 to 48 hours later, when you suddenly realize a chronic trouble spot feels lighter or you experience a night of deep sleep.

Healing is a process that continues long after you leave the table. To support your integration, I personally reach out the day after your session to see how your body is settling and offer any guidance I can to help you track your progress. I highly recommend drinking plenty of water and giving yourself a quiet, restful evening following your treatment to let your whole system fully integrate the session.

When a muscle is tight, aggressive or rushed pressure can sometimes cause the body to defensively lock up. I find that when a client is seeking a "deeper" change in their tissue, what the body truly craves isn't more force—it needs more time.

Instead of rushing through a knot, I use intentional, steady pressure and spend the sustained time necessary to let the tissue melt naturally. By staying present with a trouble area and working at the pace of your nervous system, I aim to achieve profound, lasting relief. Because I prioritize this slow, layer-by-layer approach, you bypass intense bruising, though a mild, healthy muscular tenderness the next day is a completely normal sign that your system is actively resetting and aligning.

New spaces naturally keep the nervous system alert. To ensure you get the full benefit of your session, your first visit includes a complimentary 15-minute acclimation period consisting of both bodywork and a calming reset. This extra time allows your body and nervous system the opportunity to slow down, release, and re-enter the world feeling refreshed instead of jolted or rushed.

The word "somatic" simply means "of the body." Traditional massage focuses entirely on rubbing external muscle layers. Somatic tracking looks at how your physical body holds and stores mental stress, emotional tension, and nervous system patterns. By tuning into these sensations, we help your body safely release long-standing protective defenses that physical rubbing alone can't reach.

Yes, it is automatically woven into both the 60-minute and 90-minute sessions. Every "Whole System" session blends customized massage strokes with somatic tracking and nervous system regulation. This integrated approach ensures your muscles get the physical relief they need while your mind and nervous system experience deep, restorative peace.

Trauma-informed care means prioritizing your physical and emotional safety above all else. Because our bodies hold onto our past experiences, my practice is designed to be a completely safe, predictable, and supportive sanctuary.

  • A Foundation of Trust: Drawing from my professional background in rehabilitation services, I understand how stress and trauma alter the nervous system. For clients navigating a history of traumatic touch, I offer a fully collaborative experience where I can explain my movements before touching, ask for step-by-step permission, and provide frequent check-ins. For everyone else, this translates into a deeply respectful, quiet, and highly intuitive treatment where your comfort and boundaries are always prioritized.

  • Understanding Physical Release: Chronic physical knots are often somatic "trauma centers"—areas where the body holds stress until it finally feels safe enough to let go. When your nervous system relaxes deeply, a physical or emotional release can naturally occur.

  • A Safe Space to Process: A release looks different for everyone. It can present as a need to cry, shake, voice tension, or simply drift into a deep, restorative sleep. Whichever way your system chooses to process, I am there to facilitate a secure, non-judgmental space.

  • Zero Pressure: There is no need to talk or explain what you are feeling. I simply provide the empathetic, quiet space your body needs to heal when it is ready

While I do my best to accomodate my clients needs and schedule, every "Whole System" session requires my entire presence, focused intention, and a significant investment of energetic care. Because I do not offer basic, transactional treatments, I intentionally limit my practice to a select number of clients per week. This ensures that when you are on my table, you receive my absolute best, unhurried energy.

Because space is highly limited and each treatment is customized to your personal healing goals, all appointments are scheduled directly through me. Please use the contact form or reach out via email or text to request an opening. Once we complete a brief digital intake and safety screening, we will lock in your desired day and time.

While I understand emergencies happen, I request at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment time if possible.

My practice is a private residential studio located in Billings Heights. To maintain a secure, quiet, and exclusive environment, the exact address and parking details are sent directly to you 24 hours before your session, once your digital intake and safety screening are complete. Free on-site parking is available.
